Kimo is a Cultural Practitioner, Hawaiian Educator and Hula Master- who was introduced to me through our mutual friend- Jennifer Fiedler- Co Author of “Lei Aloha” with Meleana Estes- and Author of The Essential Bar Book.

Kimo shares amazing flower information about the Fire Flower Lei- and how it’s created and the intricate construction of this treasured lei!

Kimo shares one of his incredible shell lei- and shares how they are constructed- and how these lei can be used as collateral to purchase a house- in Hawaii… Amazing!

Kimo brought his priceless Lei collection to the Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute - (translation: Where Heaven meets the Earth) – to share with us. Kimo is truly, a Hawaiian Treasure and graciously invited us to the honored place to share the story of lei- and inform us about the Culture of Lei.

In this Very Special Behind the Bloom- Kimo and I “talk story” (Kimo tells us- that “talk story” is ‘chit chat’ in Hawaii) – Kimo’s knowledge about Lei- and these examples he shares- are treasures from his personal collection.

More of the Feather Lei examples from Kimo’s Personal collection- these feather lei- are used to adorn hats… this Blue one is made from Peacock feathers… So Beautiful!
