A Day for Lei 705 #flowercocktailhour

INGREDIENTS:

2 oz gin pickled White Ginger blooms

1 oz. local Saki (instead of vermouth)

dash of maraschino liqueur

Garnish with Pickled White Ginger blooms

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine ingredients with ice in a pitcher and stir. Pour into a coupe or martini

glass and garnish with pickled White Ginger bloom. Enjoy!

PICKLED WHITE GINGER INSTRUCTIONS:

Place salt on White Ginger blooms. Leave on for three days. Place blooms in a

mason jar with white vinegar and Szechuan seasoning. Seal for two days, then

they are ready for consuming or garnish.

J’s NOTES:

Ed Kenney, the owner and chef of Mud Hen Water, graciously opened his

restaurant for our filming, which included this cocktail with our, now, mutual

friend Jenny Fiedler. Ed was entranced by the White Ginger blooms Jenny had

prepared and sampled them immediately (with permission). They are amazing!
