I loved the Old Flower Mart- and I was so Sad when it closed- and I chose not to fly out for the final day… because of my discussions with Jeanne and Rose- (and my Flower Friend Barbara Schnur)… about what the change was going to mean- and if it was going to be… Different? More Functional? Better?– I had many questions-  and that is the reason we did an entire episode in Season 8 about the NEW Flower Market! (I will put a link RIGHT HERE! When it’s available to watch)… Suffice to say- the NEW San Francisco Flower Market- is Incredible! It’s a state of the art building and location- with Coolers and Loading Docks- Lighting that is PERFECT for Flower Color Selection- Amazing Parking, and it’s in a Wonderful location in the City… So here’s the exciting news- this Specially Made Video - especially for my Flower Friends- Old and New at the San Francisco Flower Market- gives you a preview of that upcoming Episode of Life in Bloom (Blooms by the Bay #803).

I realized that the San Francisco Flower Mart or the NEW San Francisco Flower Market- is not just about the facility- and more over- it’s ALL about the People and the Flowers- that make this my Favorite Place on the Planet. The Flower Family that is the San Francisco Flower Market- is Fantastic… I’ve visited twice since it’s opened- and every time has been incredible… this Video includes excerpts from both Visits… including Interviews with Jeanne and Rose- a Visit with Barbara Schnur, Flower Buyer for Mayesh. I talk to Rafa and Raul from Rafa’s Wholesale Flowers, and show off some of Raul’s Flower Handwork. Kevin Tagnoli (one of the Famous Tagnoli Twins) from Santa Rosa Wholesale Florists Inc., Patricia Araujo Clay from Sunshine Flowers, Int’l, Alex Shibata from Mount Eden Floral Company, and Flower Historian and Flower Icon Willie Neve!

These Flower Friends give us great insight to what it’s like to be a part of the NEW San Francisco Flower Market- they share history and experiences that help me tell the story… Finally we visit with Aaron Peskin- Former President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors – and we talk about the challenges and opportunities that helped move this Iconic San Francisco Location across town to the new Location. In the PBS Version- Aaron and I create Flower Arrangements- and talk about the Power that Flowers possess.
