Blooming Pasta with Edible Flowers #RecipeinBloom
This recipe is super easy to make- and the addition of edible flowers gives it a Life in Bloom feeling… for sure!
This Recipe is featureed in “Flowers By the Ocean” Episode 809 - J Schwanke’s Life in Bloom #recipeinbloom
Blooming Pasta with Flower Garnish
INGREDIENTS: GARNISH: Edible Flowers- I used Violas… and Cornflower
1 pkg pasta ( I used Lavender Pasta from our Friends at Local Epicurean - here in Grand Rapids MI)
Lemon Zest
6 Tbsp butter lemon juice
1/2 cup cream or half and half
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
INSTRUCTIONS:
Cook pasta to package instructions, set aside, keep warm.
To make sauce, melt butter, add cream, add lemon zest and lemon juice
(from one lemon), grated Parmesan cheese. Allow sauce to thicken over heat.
Combine with cooked pasta - briefly over heat.
Grate additional Parmesan cheese over top. Garnish with edible flowers. Enjoy!
J’s NOTES:
If you’ve never made your own sauce before, give this a try – you’ll love it. It also
works well to add cooked shrimp or scallops for a more complete meal. The Lavender
pasta shown is from The Local Epicurean - a specialty grocer that makes
pasta on site - with herb and floral ingredients. They also offer cooking classes.
